Read Numbers read free novels online from your Mobile, Pc. Numbers is a Fantasy novel by Laurann Dohner. Rescued as a child by her grandpa, the powerful Vampire Malachi, Emma has been on the run for nearly forty years from a Vamp determined to. When Gerri's VampLycan stepfather died, her mother moved them far from his clan. As a teen, it was the most devastating day of her life.
Her bravado began to waver. I take it that your lives are in real danger? The jet landed with a rough bump and the brakes made her jerk sharply in her seat—the pilot hit them hard, slowing their momentum. The motion finally stopped and the engines cut out. She bet he was far worse than the one who pretended to be all doglike. Rage twisted his features. You totally look the type to kill Bambi. Anyone would be a step up from you. The cockpit door opened and one of the pilots entered the cabin.
Built-in stairs lowered as her heart pounded. She hated the company she kept but she had a really bad feeling about whoever they were taking her to. Things could always get worse. Life had taught her that lesson well. It was dark and the wind blew, blinding her as loose strands of hair whipped into her face. She tucked her chin down, turned her face into her shoulder, and tried to see the steps.
Fear gripped her over the possibility of falling. She was glad it was summer, at least, and there was no snow to contend with. She reached the bottom and tossed her head, facing into the wind to clear her hair away from her eyes. Thick trees lined both sides of the runway, and the only lights were mounted on poles strategically placed along its length, about every two hundred or so feet.
No houses or buildings were within sight. Her gaze traveled over what she could make out and there was nothing but blackness behind the lighted airstrip. He stayed in the shadows for a few steps but then a black-haired man was revealed. He wore some kind of dark cape thing that blew in the wind, and it billowed out as he approached. They were amazing and kind of scary at the same time.
His features stunned her. He was perfection. His bone structure was chiseled to resemble some kind of masculine god. He wore no shirt and the cape thing hung open in the front. Muscular thighs were encased in tight leather, with some seriously badass biker boots on his big feet. He paused ten feet away. Jill glanced his way as the lawyer bowed slightly, his gaze lowered to the pavement in front of his feet. She glanced back to find Boon with his head lowered too, looking equally scared. Her attention fixed once more on the man who frightened them.
He was hot. His silvery-blue gaze held hers and some of her fear eased. He held very still until she stopped a few feet in front of him, unsure what to do.
He held out his hand as if he wanted to shake hers. Shark wriggled a hand into his front pocket and tossed the keys in the air. Aveoth caught them and he stepped around her, his big, warm hands covering hers. She meekly allowed it, since he seemed to want to let her go. One cuff opened, then the other. She pulled her arms in front of her, intent on rubbing her wrists, but the big guy moved faster. He stepped around her and gently cupped her wrists in his larger hands to examine them.
She glanced up and saw his anger when he spotted the red marks from her struggles with the metal. He turned his head, and the expression on his face made her instantly like him. He appeared utterly furious at the other two men. Which seemed to be the case. The hunk with the incredible eyes released her wrists and stepped closer. I thought I was going to die. His touch was feather-light for the seconds it remained before he withdrew his hand. She met his gaze again, briefly.
He turned his head to glower at her captors. Wait until you get to know her. Jill stared at Cole and Boon. Both men appeared uneasy, and when she glanced at Aveoth, pure rage showed on his face—all of it still directed at the men.
He was a good foot taller. What should I call you? They strangled me until I passed out to put me on that plane. Can you please help me get home? Decon is a sperm donor only.
He threatened my mother until the day she died. He sent thugs after her every few years to make threats. She cried for days every time they found us. After dealing with those two, I understand why. I hate that entire family and anyone who works for them.
May we leave now and tell Decker your arrangement is in place? Call the police and have them arrested! I demand they pay for the shit they did. Boon threatened to rape me and allow his friends to join in. Jill looked back at Aveoth. They could hurt someone else! I can sternly warn them to change their ways and give you my word of honor they will never grace your presence again.
Can we go? Do you want my belt? No way was she going to stand there doing absolutely nothing while those pricks just flew off to go back to her sperm donor.
Once again, that jackass would win. She glanced at the man in front of her. He was bodybuilder-large and looked pretty fit. He also was drop-jaw gorgeous.
He really was a big, muscled bastard. Her gaze slid to the shark in the suit and dog boy. Can you do that? It was obvious where his mind had traveled. Some of her fear cooled instantly while she debated the consequences. Boon made that growling noise again, and she turned her head, meeting his glare straight on.
Malice shone in his eyes and his hands fisted at his sides. Decision made. Totally worth it. She faced the tall badass. Murder is illegal, right? He loves to threaten women with his belt. Chapter Three Rage burned inside Aveoth as he stepped away from Jill. He halted, though, and glanced back, rethinking it.
Remember that. He faced the two VampLycans. He went for the scarred one first. He moved fast and punched him before he could react. Boon hit the ground with a grunt.
Aveoth spun, kicking out. His boot made contact with the one in the suit at chest level, sending him flying a good eight feet. Boon roared in pain. Aveoth spun him before he could recover and dropped him on the ground again. He stomped on his hand next, breaking more bones. Aveoth glanced at Jill to gauge her reaction. Her attention was focused on the man now sprawled on the ground, cursing up a storm and rolling in agony.
Boon slammed against them and fell to the pavement. The man groaned, still conscious but in serious pain. The one in the suit had gotten up and tried to run into the woods.
Aveoth caught him easily and threw him back toward the plane. He hit the ground rolling. Aveoth stalked after him and grabbed him by the nape of the neck as he attempted to stand. The scent of blood filled the air. Boon got up, cradling his injured arm and hand. He snarled and glared at Jill. Boon screamed. More blood spilled as Aveoth forced him to turn his head then leaned in until he knew he was all Boon could see.
He sniffed the blood, making a show of it so the jerk understood. Kneel down and beg her forgiveness for the mistreatment she suffered at your hands. That pissed Aveoth off enough that he stepped to the side of him and used his boot to kick the jerk behind his knees.
The enforcer collapsed hard, despite the fact that Aveoth still kept hold of his head. Can you forgive me, Jillian Milzner? I really mean it. Decker had no decorum, so his enforcers had probably never learned true respect. He stared at Jill to see her reaction. She took a few steps closer then stopped in her tracks.
Assholes like that do. Her eyes widened and she paled. Her gaze lifted to him. Her lips parted, then she sealed them tightly together.
She seemed engrossed with his claws. Boon whimpered and crawled toward the jet. Aveoth watched Jill as she braved coming closer to him. He held still, allowing it. She reached out toward his hand. He glanced down at it. Jill sucked in a sharp breath. I believe humans call them Werewolves. He felt sympathy. I can show you my wings if you wish. Boon and Cole had boarded and retracted the stairs.
The door was sealed. He could see the pilots through the front windows. They looked terrified as they readied to fly away. Jill was too close to the runway for his comfort, so it made sense to just take her home.
He slowly turned, giving her his back. You want proof? Here it is.
His wings grew outward as the bones shifted. He did it slowly so she could watch, and to avoid the searing pain of a fast transformation. He extended his wings, showing their full expanse, then tucked them and turned around to see her reaction. She tried to speak, her lips moved, but no sound came out.
I will never hurt you in any way. She reached up timidly and he noticed how much her hand shook. Her touch was gentle as she caressed him and it made blood rush to his dick again. He was once again impressed with her bravery.
She looked away from his wing to hold his gaze. I must have gotten a contact high from hell. Feel me touching you? I thought angels had white ones. The wings are a bonus. Smile for me. She amused him. They were plush, and her mouth looked very enticing to kiss. Otherwise this hallucination is going to transform into some kind of nightmare where you turn into a monster trying to murder me.
This is my wet dream. Have you ever wanted to do that? Flying with me will be much more fun. Put your arms around my neck. Wrap your legs around my waist. She surprised him by doing as he asked. The feel of her arms wrapping around his neck heated his blood. He glanced at her neck and desire shot through him so strong, it astonished him.
He wanted to sink his fangs into her and take a taste. He clenched his jaw and kept his lips pressed together. He lifted her and she wrapped her legs around his waist.
The cape trapped beneath his arms, still wrapped around her body, should keep her warm. He flexed his wings and looked at the jet. It had fully turned and the pilots chose that moment to punch the engines.
He glanced upward and leapt. Jill gasped when they left the ground. He soared higher into the sky and away from the runway. Super-hot guy flew with her in his embrace, their bodies horizontal, the night sky and stars above her. She turned her head, staring down. The wind felt chilly but his body was warm. She watched the ominous landscape below.
They sped past a lot of dark trees about a hundred feet down. He banked to one side and she spotted a large mass of what appeared to be a black, glittery substance.
This is a total E ticket ride. That would totally suck if we crashed. They were big, probably five feet in length on each side, and black. They were solid and had a velvety texture. He stopped beating his wings as seemed to glide. It reminded her of a bird. He flapped them again and she looked down.
They seemed to soar higher, and when she tipped her head back, looking behind her, she saw the upside-down shape of a huge mountain in the distance. It has a sheer cliff face that is near impossible to climb on all sides. It would take a lot of time for someone to reach our homes and that makes it easy for us to defend them. Like a bat cave? They were really high, the dark shapes of trees appearing tiny now. Hold on. The feeling of falling had her gasping, but he landed on his feet.
She watched him fold his wings back. It was dark but the moonlight was strong enough for her to make him out. That sounds dangerous.
Could I accidently be sucked in with them or something? My bones transform into different shapes, you could say. Think of a rib cage. My wings contract tight to mimic a second set I guess, while inside me. Does that help explain it?
The explanations he gave were only confusing her more. She unwrapped her legs and slid down his body as she eased her hold around his neck. Her feet touched solid ground. He straightened, breaking their physical connection. She watched a look of pain crease his handsome features. His wings slowly grew smaller until they disappeared behind him.
She glanced down at his chest but it was too dark to make out his skin, so she watched his face again. He opened his eyes. The color of them appeared a bit startling, since they seemed to glow a little, and now appeared mostly silver instead of blue.
There are no rails. I hope so. She turned her head, taking in her surroundings. It appeared as if she was standing on a rock ledge jutting out of the cliff of massive rock. I really enjoy the second book more She didn't make it and Mourn is having a hard time with the loss, but Dana who is Paul's sister knows what he is going through , Cuz she lost her husband 2 years ago The mini book was from Valiant story; you probably remember he was the male that killed any human female that came in to his cell, but he didn't kill Tammy Valiant's mate.
But, just know this was a different feel to the other books, but in a good way. Unlike other heroines in this series Candi was a human who was raised within Mercile with This story is so beautiful that I cried at one point, and it isn't even a full book!
I am really hoping next book is one the Female New Species After that, he called himself Mourn. Overall, the story were oo-kay for me. Just, oh come on. Is there nothing new? Maybe the other reason was that I enjoy the next story and this one came up short. You were always my greatest strength. After that, he took the name Hero.
Candi was raised as a New Species. She acts like one and thinks like one. Both of them were kindred spirits and it was great to see that they were given a second chance. My pup. View all 8 comments. Oct 04, Viri rated it it was ok. La primera parte es un fraude total Aug 03, Q. Don't know who's Numbers, but Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! Freakin Frakin Finally! Numbers contains books fourteen and fifteen in the New Species series by Laurann Dohner, that's right ladies, get your fans and an icy cold drink ready, we have a double helping of sexy, yet adorable New Species males!
The stories are a little shorter, but Numbers contains two good length novella's so you definitely haven't been short changed.
As Mourn's name implies, the fate of his mate was tragic and he now feels he has nothing to live for, until Dana comes in to his life and tries to help him through his grief. I really enjoyed this one, it was my favourite story in Numbers Mourn was a little bit wild and still adjusting to his life as a free male, which made him curiously, and adorably, innocent in some ways.
And, although I debate the healthiness of replacing one mate with another to give yourself a reason to live, I still really enjoyed it. As expected it was sexy and sweet, these Species men really do know their way around a gal's body!
Book 15 - Hero formally To remember , now known as Hero, you will need to stretch your mind back to Valiant and Tammy's book. When Tammy gets kidnapped she is put in a cage with a New Species male, , who does his best to look after her. Now, 12 books later we are getting his book. What Hero has hidden from everyone is that when in Mercile he was raised alongside a human girl,Candi, they shared the same cell and although never consummated anything, were mates.
That is, until Mercile decided to play games, resulting in Candi's violent death. Her death haunts him; all he feels is a mixture of rage and loss, something he must face when Candi arrives at the gates of Homeland.
Candi has to be one of my favourite heroines in this series so far, although human, she has been raised as a New Species and apart from their physical aspects, has all their traits. I really enjoyed seeing Candi and Hero face their past and once again reunite, it was really touching, not to mention sexy as they finally get to explore one another.
Another aspect of this novella I liked, was seeing all the females together as they all try and teach Candi about her new world, it was great to see some the heroines from the previous books and some of the New Species women.
Over all, I really enjoyed this book, both stories were great, I very quickly devoured them! First I am a little sad that there are not any more books! But it helped that this book was really 2 books in 1.
The first half is about Dana and Mourn both still pretty deep in their grief. This broke my heart over and over again. But Laurann Dohner has a way of getting us to root for these 2 injured souls. Dana has had more time and experience with her grief so she befriended Mourn.
Gosh I was torn apart by the sorrow and loss these 2 had. But I was so utterly happy when they turned to each other; they both deserve to be with someone who understands the hole they each have. The second half of the book was about a human girl being raised in the testing facilities with a species. How she survived the abuse and drugs inflicted on her. It was a powerful story of lose and how she fought with all that she was to get back to her pup. I loved this story the best.
The hero was so conflicted and he too was so hurt by his past. I loved how he fought himself to be what and who she needed. This was a true love story of surviving at any cost and then learning to live. Love it. Yep, I said it before on every review and I will stay it again. She brought these books to life with her voice and her words.
I would probably listen to anything she narrates from here on out she has me hook line and sinker. Book It definitely took me back to my New Species happy place I loved the MC's, their plight, how it all ended. It was good. I just couldn't fully connect with the MC's or their plight.
Though heartbreaking, it was just missing something for me. So overall it was a decent read Book So overall it was a decent read. Just not the best for me. Any New Species fan needs to read these stories though. So I recommend this read. If you're new to the Species clan, I strongly urge you to leave this review, go get book 1, and start from the beginning.

Dana is the sister of one of the doctors that works at Homeland Paul and is visiting him when the story begins. Mourn previously is a NS male that lost his mate soon after the NS people were released from the labs.
Mourn has been really sad since he lost his mate and has been trying to pick fights with other NS males hoping to get himself kill This book had 2 distinct stories in it, both of which I liked.
Mourn has been really sad since he lost his mate and has been trying to pick fights with other NS males hoping to get himself killed or at least use the physical pain to drown out the emotional pain he's feeling. He ends up getting himself hurt during a fight and is sent to medical while Dana is getting the tour from Paul. While Mourn is being tended to, Dana finds out that he lost his mate and is dealing with a lot of pain from that.
Dana lost her husband to cancer 2 years before and can sympathize with what Mourn is going through so she decides to talk to him to see if she can help.
The talking does help but soon Dana and Mourn find that they're attracted to each other. Soon they decide to try a relationship together and after getting past a few issues they end the story starting a HEA together.
I enjoyed this story very much. I liked Dana and Mourn and their story was pretty good. Considering where they both were at in the beginning of the story, it almost seemed like things evolved between them too fast but I felt good about where they were at when it ended so it work for me.
Overall, I liked the story and that Mourn and Dana were able to find happiness together. Story 2: Hero and Candi 4 stars Audio time: Candi is the daughter of a scientist at Mercile the lab that made the NS people and then kept them captive and experimented on them who was thrown into the lab to live with the NS at the age of 5 years old.
She was caged with a NS male known by the number who later takes the name of Hero. They were together for years and considered themselves mates before they were separated and each were told that the other was dead. When she hit her teens, Candi and Hero were separated and then she was sent to an institution where she was imprisoned for supposed mental issues.
She was there for years until the doctor that was being paid to keep her there decided she was better off dead. Candi was able to escape, get to the NS Homeland and convince them to help her. She thought Hero was dead and just wanted to avenge him and be with her own kind since she grew up with NS she feels like she's one of them and doesn't trust humans.
Candi and Hero both discover that the other is alive and they're pretty shocked. There was an unfortunate misunderstanding right before they were split up so the reunion isn't completely happy and Hero has a bit of trouble wrapping his head around the whole thing.
Thankfully, they work things out and with a little bit of adjusting, Hero and Candi are able to start their well deserved HEA together. I liked both Hero and Candi and was glad they were reunited. The story did contain some flashbacks and my only complaint is that sometimes it seemed like there was no warning before the story jumped into a flashback making me stop and figure out what shifted in the story.
It wasn't a major issue though and outside of that I was very pleased with the story. Overall, I liked this book. It was a bit weird having 2 stories in 1 book but it worked. I almost think that maybe I'd have liked the stories to be a bit longer but there wasn't really anything missing out of them.
I liked all of the MCs and the stories were very enjoyable. I'd recommend this book. Sep 22, Rosebud rated it really liked it Shelves: This was a twofer book. Two independent stories in the series for fans to enjoy. While visiting her brother Paul at Homeland, Dana is accidently drawn into a medical emergency when a New Species feline male is brought into the clinic with severe injuries sustained in a fight.
Finding out that Mourn is a kindred spirit, Dana reaches out to the suffering male only to find out that in trying to heal Mourn, Mourn is about to heal her. But not all are happy with the situation as Mour This was a twofer book.
But not all are happy with the situation as Mourn is known to be unstable with concerns as to his motive in friending Dana.
As a child Candi was brought into the Mercile Facility and kept as a prisoner, an experiment, that lingers into her adulthood. A prisoner even after all New Species were freed. Finally escaping, Candi has only one goal. To find and travel to Homeland to demand justice for her male, , who died as a direct result of her. Revenge is her only thought until she finds out , now called Hero, isn't dead after all but wants nothing to do with her. Mourn made an appearance in Wrath while Hero was a secondary character in Valiant.
Their stories are now told and I caution you that you'll need tissues available for portions of one of these stories. For those interested in adult content. That shouldn't even be a question unless you haven't read any prior installments in the story in which case this shouldn't be the first of series you read.
The author has capitalized on the benefits of the core animal feline, canine, etc to maximize the benefits of having sex with a New Species individual. Laugh out loud moment thinking of adult toy manufactures mimicking toys for women using this concept. Only issue I had with these stories are that while I totally appreciated the twofer I would have welcomed individual books fleshing out the actual stories more.
However, I realize that is biting the hand that feeds my love of books addiction. In reality I'm not sure the author could have supported full novel status stories for our heroes so there's that. So keep on keeping on Ms. Dohner and please consider Jinx in the near future k? Sep 14, Chappy rated it it was amazing Shelves: Do you see me doing a happy dance?
